Julià Travel World Wide, the new Julià Group brand that is specialised in receptive tourism worldwide, has signed a partnership agreement with the Expedia Group, one of the world’s largest online travel agencies. This strategic agreement means that Expedia Group will now include all tours and activities offered by Julià Travel World Wide in its own offer, extending its portfolio by over 600 products worldwide. The three-year agreement makes Julià Travel World Wide one of Expedia’s strategic partners

With headquarters in the US and operating in 31 countries, Expedia is one of the top international online travel agencies. The firm was attracted to Julià Travel World Wide’s international business development plan and similar use of technological development in its tourism products.

Expedia Local Expert Vice President Jen O’Twomney and the new General Manager of Julià Travel World Wide, Edgar Weggelaar, seal the agreement last Tuesday at the Julià Group offices in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

Tour and activity focus

Julià Travel World Wide is a new company in the Julià Group that will create and market products and services geared towards the tour and activities sector worldwide. The new brand’s aim is to market the world’s largest operator of tours and tourist activities as part of the internationalisation strategy of Julià Group and its tourism division.

Edgar Weggelaar, until now the General Manager of Julià Travel Spain Spain, will be leading this new project. Weggelaar joined Julià Group in 2009 as the Sales Manager of Julià Travel before becoming General Manager of this sub-brand of Julià Group in 2014. Marc Codinach will now take over as head of Julià Travel Spain, having joined the Julià Group in 2015 as a Deputy Manager of Julià Travel.

“With Julià Travel World Wide we are consolidating the company’s international business development but it is also a chance to highlight the experiences and customisation of our tourism products,” said the new General Manager of Julià Travel World Wide. “Our goal is to position ourselves as the top activities bank worldwide, which means becoming the number one tour and activity bank, although not as a company that resells but rather one that produces and creates,” he concluded.
