Barcelona, June 5, 2024 – The UTE Julià Travel – Automóviles Luarca has once again secured the service concession for the management and operation of the San Sebastián sightseeing bus. The contract will be valid for six years from the moment of its formalization, with the possibility of a one-year extension. The new operation is scheduled to begin in the third week of July.

The service will operate year-round, with different schedules and frequencies depending on the season:

  • High season (July 1 – September 30 and Easter Week): Daily service from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (last departure).
  • Mid-season (January 1-6, March 15 – June 30, October, and the last week of December): Daily service from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
  • Low season (January 7 – March 14 and November 2 – the week before the last week of December): Friday to Sunday, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The service will be operated with two Euro 6 dual-powered buses with an ECO label, offering 70 seated spaces. These buses are fully accessible, featuring a wheelchair anchoring platform for at least two wheelchairs and equipped with seat belts.

Additional onboard features include air conditioning, georeferenced audio guides in 12 languages (Basque, Spanish, French, English, German, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Catalan, Galician, Chinese, and Portuguese), free WiFi, and a TV screen providing information on the route and other relevant details for passengers.

As a new feature, the service will also include a children’s audio guide in four languages (Basque, Spanish, French, and English).

The route, approximately one hour long, will have 15 stops. The main stop and customer service point will be located on República Argentina Street, in front of Plaza de Okendo. The tour will allow passengers to enjoy the city’s main tourist attractions, including Teatro Victoria Eugenia, Paseo Nuevo, the port, Parte Vieja, Plaza Gipuzkoa, Zurriola, Kursaal, Boulevard, City Hall, Alderdi-Eder Park, La Concha promenade and beach, Miramar Palace, Ondarreta Beach, the Funicular, Aiete Palace, Reale Arena Stadium, and Tabakalera.

With the new concession, the San Sebastián sightseeing bus service is also updating its fares. The 24-hour ticket, free for children under 4 years old, will cost €16 for adults, €8 for young passengers (ages 5-12), and €12.80 for seniors (65+), unemployed individuals, and people with disabilities. The tickets (available in 24-hour and 48-hour options) allow unlimited trips and hop-on, hop-off access during the validity period.
