The presentation of the Financial Excellence Awards took place during the ASSET Annual Dinner held at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, which was attended by more than 250 people.
The Association of Corporate Financiers (ASSET) has delivered the awards for Financial Excellence 2023. The winner in the Project Finance category was Grupo Julià, while in the CFO category, the winner was Montserrat Pons, Director of Finance and Administration at BASF Española. The ASSET Governing Board decided to award the prize to Grupo Julià, one of Spain’s leading business groups specializing in global tourism and mobility services and which this year celebrates its 90th anniversary, for the implementation of an innovative and effective financing project capable of generating positive results and creating value for the company.
Miguel Gallo, partner at EY, a professional services firm that collaborates with Grupo Julià, was in charge of presenting the award.
“Grupo Julià has implemented solutions that have improved the management of financial resources, optimized the capital structure, reduced costs and improved profitability, among other notable achievements. Its strategic approach and its ability to overcome financial challenges deserve recognition and the award for Financial Excellence” explains Luis Calaf, CEO & Secretary General of ASSET.
For her part, Montserrat Pons, Director of Finance and Administration at BASF Española, received the award in the CFO category for her outstanding work as a finance professional throughout her career in which she has demonstrated exceptional commitment, outstanding financial skills and a great strategic vision in the business environment marked by achievements that have contributed to the growth and success of the different organizations in which she has worked.
“His financial leadership, sound decision making, efficient management of resources and ability to meet challenges have left a lasting mark on the field of finance. This award recognizes Montserrat Pons’ professional excellence and her valuable contribution to the development and strengthening of the financial management profession,” said Calaf. .
